For our final installment, we explore the Hollywood District of Woodinville.

Bound to have a five star experience, this district features high quality boutique wineries alongside some of Washington’s most famous wine names. Whether you’re going for upscale or laid back, there is something for everyone.

Summer’s right around the corner. There is no better time than to slide on those Birkenstocks, enjoy a delicious tasting flight, and post up at one of the many patios offered in this district.

Childhood dreams of open spaces and farming, along with the love of wine and community led to the opening of Famiglia Vineyards and later Cave B Estate Winery. Through many endeavors, the owners’ greatest love has been tending to the vineyard – great wines come from great vines and the multi-award winning wines are a great testament to that. Cave B strives to be a place to enjoy food, wine and music with those you care about.

Wine, in the Italian tradition is meant to be shared among family and friends. At Chandler Reach, you’re not simply visiting a tasting room, you’re stepping into their home. You’re welcomed to try their selection of estate wines and join the family.

Inspired by enjoying great food and sampling new wine with friends, owner Lisa Bowen opened Village Wines as a wine club, retail shop, and simply to give the community a place “where friends gather.” In 2010 Village Wines moved to it’s current location and is proud to offer over 50 wines, local beers on tap, a popular private event space and a delicious menu.

“We are firm believers that great wines begin in the vineyard.” Airfield Estates uses 100% estate grown fruit that produce well-balanced wines with true varietal characteristics showcasing the subtleties of the terroir. Airfield Estates Vineyard is situated in the heart of the Yakima Valley – Washington’s first established AVA. Nestled along the foothills of the Rattlesnake Mountains, it spans 830 acres and includes over 20 different varietals.

Beginning in a basement in 2002, Darby English’s passion for wine and his fixation on quality quickly gave him a reputation for crafting some of the best wines in Washington State. In 2012 Darby opened his Hollywood Schoolhouse tasting room. Today he produces 4,000 cases of Bourdeaux blends, Rhone varietals and single vineyard wines.

Forgeron Cellars was born out of a quest to produce site-specific wines that illustrate the diversity found amongst Columbia Valley’s different viticultural appellations. Their mission is to produce small-lot, artisan wines that accurately display each vineyard, varietal, and appellation. They believe that much of the winemaking occurs in the vineyard and adhere to traditional techniques while utilizing the benefits of modern innovation.

In 2001 Ron and Marianne Lachini began to produce their premium, single vineyard Pinots and embraced their patient pursuit of world-class wines. Lachini Vineyards respects the time-honored priciples of uncompromising desire for quality and long-term stewardship of the lands from which they harvest. The Lachini Vineyards team brings years of experience and is committed to retaining the essence of the terroir along with each vintage’s character.

Artisan Hill

It is with pride and passion that Damsel owner Mari Womak introduces her wines to you. The romance, ritual and history of wine continues to motivate and inspire her.

After finding her love of wine while working in Seattle restaurants, Mari began working in tasting rooms around Woodinville. Today she offers you wine from her own tasting room and is currently working on vintage number six.

Isenhower Cellars was founded in 1999 by husband and wife team Denise and Brett Isenhower. Isenhower wines are made in limited quantities and their vineyards are carefully selected and monitored by Brett himself. Isenhower practices Minimalist Winemaking – a philosophy of only light intervention in the natural process of winemaking. This style of winemaking produces wines with a lightness of touch and depth of character. Every bottle is age-worthy, fresh and interesting.

Pepper Bridge Winery and Amavi Cellars are sister wineries that come together in their shared Woodinville tasting room. Both wineries are certified sustainable and vegan, their winemaking philosophies committed to sustainable practices and improving and preserving the land for future generations. At Pepper Bridge and Amavi you’ll find a winery family insistent on having a good time while producing award-winning wines.

Chris Gorman founded Gorman Winery under a simple philosophy: to make wine, it is imperative to understand it. After 30 years in the wine industry representing some of the finest wines in the world, and extensive travel in the wine regions of Italy, Spain and Germany, Chris is sharing his understanding of wine through artisan Washington wines in the heart of Woodinville’s Hollywood Hill.

Located just outside of Woodinville in Duvall, Washington, William Grassie Wine Estates is an intimate Washington State winery committed to producing premier Bordeaux style wines. The winemaker, Bill Grassie, embarked upon his vision to create world-class wine in 2006 when he moved to the Seattle area. Bill’s passion for gardening led him to planting a vineyard, followed by his first vintage in 2011.
